SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING CHALLENGE

A problem solving competition between secondary schools.  The aim is to encourage participation in science studies by senior students at secondary and tertiary level, hopefully reversing the present disturbing national downward trend in the number of science students.  he event is generally run as a partnership between university faculties, secondary schools, Rotary International, members of the corporate sector and professional organisations.  All of these have the common objective of informing and encouraging young scientists, engineers and technologists.  Rotarians can participate by joining an organising committee, encouraging schools to participate and volunteeering to assist at the events.  Want to know more?  www.newcastle.edu.au/faculty/engineering/events/challenge/it-works?
